There is nothing better than a story of re-emergence and redemption, when one has taken a fall. That’s the short story as it goes with one, City Wilson aka Mr. So Lacey (christened by the people as the Ambassador of the city of the same name, just north of Olympia) as his fans call him.
After a lengthy stint in the Washington State Corrections system, City – who is rumored to have always been a fast and courageous talker (and one who keeps his word) has completed the better part of a two-decade sentence, incarcerated at the young age of 17 (maybe he’ll share about this difficult time, someday). That’s the tough part – the consequences of decisions.
However, after surviving in the Hells on Earth called the prison industrial complex, which has held so-called ‘super predators’ – as one Hillary Rodham Clinton described young men of color who have gone astray of the law, City Wilson who was rappin’ and rhyming during his down time, is doing what he loves as a free man. On top of maintaining a work schedule, providing for his family, graduating with a degree from college and still spittin’ and representin, City has dedicated himself to a new path in life proving that’… The G ain’t on you, the G is in you (for those who don’t know…). Congrats to City and keep on the prosperous pathway.
His double single ‘Letter To The Lord’ b/w ‘Buzzin’ In My City’ feature two themes, one reflective and spiritual and one when you’re feeling yourself and this is his first work from his Welcome To Lacey project due late fall/early winter 2016.
