Black children in the United States are the subject of many statistics
\nthat paint a bleak picture and negative outlook with respect to their
\nplace in our society yet a large majority still continue to demonstrate
\ntremendous resilience and defy the odds.<\/p>\n

\ncommunity based celebration of our young people being on the right
\nside of the graduation rate and on a trajectory to success.
\nThe event will honor recent graduates recognizing their
\naccomplishment as well as the infinite possibilities for their futures.
\nSpecial guests who exemplify excellence in their fields will pass on
\nwords of wisdom to our young graduates as they prepare for success
\nin their next phase of life. Performances and special prizes will round
\nout the night as we show the graduates how special and significant
\ntheir accomplishment is.<\/p>\n
\nlives but in the tradition of many African cultures we will mark this
\nevent as a rite of passage into adulthood with wisdom from elders in
\nthe community with the goal of providing them with a mindset that
\nstrives amplify the excellence already within them.<\/p>\n
