The Covenant. A family, a society, and a home. With ambassadors of all ages, this highly educated group of individuals are anti-racist and anti-bias community organizers. They are here to not only help better the communities they work in while lifting them up as well but to also let the youth know that there is always hope for a better tomorrow. Covenant\u2019s motto is to always honor Sankofa, looking back to look forward. Sankofa symbolizes the Akan Tribe of Ghana\u2019s people\u2019s quest for knowledge among the Akan with the implication that the quest is based on critical examination and intelligent and patient investigation. Their mission is <\/span>\u201cSpreading unifying principles globally.\u201d <\/span><\/i>Which they continue to do daily by engaging in consistent education for youth and adults, speaking only the facts, and continuing to build off of the current reality and the people they serve. When it comes to the community, everyone is treated equally. Covenant is sure to let their communities know that their voice should always be heard, creating lifelong relationships, and making honest connections to everyone. Forming a safe space for individuals who may not have them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During this month, they, unfortunately, had the passing of one of their ambassadors, Elijah Lewis. Lewis was also an advocate for the Seattle community who was known by people such as Seattle Mayor, Bruce Harrell, as a \u201cyoung effective and authentic advocate.\u201d Covenant continues to keep his legacy flourishing by enduring his words and actions from what he has done and started for the Seattle community.
