\n90-minutes of heart-pounding art reflecting life, this production tells the story of a family\u2019s desperate crusade to escape systems designed to break them down while calling on the power of love to build them back up again.<\/p>\n

As the 2018 Obie Award Winner for Playwriting, Dominique Morriseau tells the story of an inner-city public school teacher who is committed to her students but desperate to rescue her son from a system she knows isn\u2019t meant for him to thrive. Meanwhile, the shadows of mismanaged relationships are hard to miss and impossible to ignore!<\/p>\n

Acts On Stage theater presents this masterpiece for eight shows (March 31-April 9). It is directed by Isiah Anderson, Jr. and features the incredible ensemble talents of local actors – Rosa Nicole Booker, Joshua Webb, Dairyona Thompson, Stacie Latimer, Jeremy Rubin, and Jeffrey L. Cheatham II!<\/p>\n

Acts On Stage<\/strong>\u00a0is a community theater (launched in July 2020) committed to centering the voices, talents, and initiatives of People of Color and Creatives of Faith. We believe creativity creates change and we see #ArtsAsActivism!<\/p>\n
